Things to do in the North of Ibiza
The North of Ibiza has a much more relaxed pace of life than the busy resorts of San Antonio and Playa d’en Bossa in the south and west. Here, life moves at a steadier pace, taking in the beautiful scenery and forests the island has to offer. However, there is plenty to discover and explore in the North.
Here are some ideas:
Hippy markets
Famous across the world for their brightly coloured stalls, selling everything from jewelry and clothing to trinkets and souvenirs. The two original, and some would say best hippy markets can be found in the North. Las Dalias in San Carlos takes place every Saturday throughout the year, with a night market on Monday during the summer months. The Hippy market at Punta Arabi in Es Canar is held each Wednesday from May until October.
Ibiza Horse Valley
This horse sanctuary just outside the village of San Joan offers treks through the beautiful countryside, a wonderful way to explore the north of the island. Run as a charity, the nine horses housed here have been rescued from a life of abuse and neglect. Suitable for riders of all ages and experience.
Can Marçà Caves at San Miguel
Originally used by smugglers in days gone by to bring their forbidden treasures onto the island, the caves are a wonder to behold. The spectacular formations of stalagmites and stalactites are simply breathtaking, as are the views out across the sea.
The statue of Tanit Goddess of Love
Ibiza’s patron saint has a statue in her honour in the beautiful? village of St Vicente. Known as the Goddess of Love and fertility, local legends say a visit here can help couples who are struggling to conceive.
Walking Ibiza
Guided walking tours are increasingly popular on the island and a great way to unearth secret paths and hidden gems which you may never find by yourself. Many companies offer tours throughout the year. If you like long nature walks and views of luxury, we recommend making several trips around Ibiza. No doubt there are many routes to the north and you will be amazed by its beauty. Discover places like Lighthouse Moscarter in Portinatx, you can only know him by walking. Or you can see the inside of Ibiza starting with San Juan and walking trails such as Cala de Sant Vicent and parts of Morna.
Beaches
Some of the most beautiful beaches are found in the North. From the crashing waves of Aguas Blancas to the turquoise waters of Cala Xarraca, pack your swimmers and explore the hidden coves and bays.

Ball Pages Traditional Dancing
Every Thursday at 6pm, outside the church of San Miguel, the dance of the Ball Pages is performed. It is an ancient courting ritual, where men would woo their intended wife. You can see this traditional display every Thursday from May to October.
Puig de Misa, Santa Eularia Church of Santa Eulalia
This Moorish church is steeped in tradition and history. Standing 52 meters above sea level and offering breathtaking views across the town, the church is thought to have been built around 1568.
Sunset at Benirras Beach
Whilst most people have heard of the Sunset Strip in San Antonio, one of the best places to see the sun make its final descent is actually up in the North. Benirras beach is famed for its sunset drumming parties which take place each Sunday(and all other days) throughout the year. A bohemian crowd gathers to celebrate the end of another perfect Ibiza day.
